The U.S. Highbush Blueberry Council is seeking nominations for council members.

Seven positions on the Folsom, Calif.-based council will be open on Jan. 1, 2016, according to a council news release.

The council will accept nominations for regional members and importer, exporter and public member positions. Nomination information will be posted at the council’s website, www.blueberry.org.

Growers may nominate regional members from Jan. 14 through Feb. 18. After the nomination period, ballots will be sent to growers in each of the four regions on April 20.

The council’s Industry Relations committee will present nominations for the importer, exporter and public member positions to the council’s executive committee by Jan. 6.

The council will then select final candidates by Feb. 27 and present recommendations to U.S. Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack.
