Peruvian blueberry exports during the period from January to November 2014 amounted to 2,080,782 kilos, i.e. 84% more than in the same period last year, when the country dispatched 1,129,765 kilos, stated AgrodataPerú.
The value of the shipments from January to November this year amounted to US $22,173,985, sixty eight percent more than in the same period in 2013, when they amounted to $13,188,040.
According to the specialized portal, the main market destinations of Peruvian blueberries was the United States, with $10.2 million (46% of the total), followed by Hong Kong with $5,000,000 (23%), the Netherlands with $4.9 million (22%), the UK (6%), Spain (1%), and Costa Rica (1%).
The major exporting companies were led by TALSA, which made sales for $12,115,000 (55% of total) doubling its operations of 2013; Camposol, with $8,014,000 million (36%); Hortifrut Tal, with $527,000; INTIPA Foods, with $455,000; and Exportadora Fruticola del Sur, with $301,000.
