Ernst & Young (EY) Chile and Chilean national newspaper El Mercurio have given the prestigious Entrepreneur of the Year Award 2016 to Víctor Moller, president of berry company Hortifrut.
The company, which also recorded stellar results last year and has recently entered a partnership with a major Chinese company to grow and market berries in Asia, is well-known in the United States where its fruit is marketed under the brand Naturipe.
The consulting firm has also invited Moller to take part in the Ernst & Young World Entrepreneur of the Year Award which will be held in Monaco this June, along with participants from more than 55 countries.
Grateful for the recognition, Moller stressed the company’s achievements – underscored by the motto “All berries to all the world every day” – had been possible due to a unique business model based on strategic global alliances and aligning different creeds and cultures.
The entrepreneur highlighted less than 400 million consumers around the world were supplied with blueberries, and given forecasts the world’s population will reach nine billion, there is “plenty of room for Hortifrut and its allied partners to continue growing”.
