The BC Blueberry Council (BCBC) has just unveiled its new brand—Powered by Nature—with its newly refreshed website at www.bcblueberry.com.
Created by Vancouver’s Watershed Communications Group, a full-service advertising and communications firm, the Powered by Nature tagline is a fresh, fun and engaging brand idea that speaks to all that the popular BC fruit has to offer.
Anju Gill, executive director of the BCBC, says that the new concept showcases the importance of this province’s spectacular nature as an energizing force for all crops, especially the blueberry.
“BC’s rich soils and moderate climate create perfect growing conditions for our highbush blueberries,” she says. “Every berry grown and harvested by our more than 600 growers brings this energy and natural vitality to recipes, tables, kitchens and berry lovers in all of our major markets.”
The advertising campaign, which also includes radio promotions, social and traditional media, reminds us that those who eat BC blueberries are themselves ‘powered by nature’. Throughout the coming months, consumers will see the BC blueberries campaign powering everything from bike rides to yoga sessions.
Since signing on with the BC Blueberry Council late last year, Watershed Principals Cam Landell and Brian Musgrove have worked closely with the BCBC Board and staff to reposition BC’s highbush blueberries as nature’s most tasty and healthy super food not only highly regarded throughout BC, but in the rest of Canada and throughout the world.
With over 80 years of blueberry-growing experience, the BC Blueberry Council represents more than 600 highbush growers. Combined, these growers have more than 11,000 hectares (27,000 acres) of highbush blueberries planted in order to meet growing demand. The BC Blueberry Council has a strong commitment to on-farm food safety and works diligently with blueberry growers and collaborates with packers and processors to ensure that BC blueberries meet the highest standards for food safety and quality.
